Joanna Runyon
1st Grade Teacher
Hello! My name is Joanna Runyon, and I am teaching the 1st/2nd grade multi-age classroom this year. As one of the 1st Grade teachers last year, I am excited to have some of my previous students in the classroom again this year. I have been involved with the school since 2019 in a variety of roles ranging from a parent, a volunteer on PAPO, and now a teacher. Being involved in this school is one of the reasons that I went back to earn my Master's in Elementary Teaching to get my Minnesota teaching license. Phoenix Academy is built around a strong community that I am grateful to be a part of. I have 4 daughters with 3 being enrolled at the Phoenix Academy. As a family, we enjoy the quiet country life, swimming, and hanging out with our 3 dogs. I love crocheting, a great conversation, and all things garden related.
